Nice One

Discovered this track through NG Radio. Great work bro.

nice story

Wow you've got this entire song scripted. I think that's the first time I've ever seen that. Very cool.

SanguineRane responds:

hahah thanks for the response!
i thought knowing something about the story behind the song would be more interesting than just hearing the song plain..
the music isn't the greatest, but ill work on it!

Sick!

This was just absolutely amazing, epic stuff bro! Incredible work, and I hope I can one day produce electronica like this! Again,,just plain awesome work

Nice

Great job with the ambiance on this one bro! I really love the guitar and it'd be great if you could flesh that part out a little more.

DomesticTerrorist responds:

Thanks! I kinda have the guitar down because I didn't want my slicing to stick out haha. It sounds pretty fluid with the little bit of reverb I added to it, but I was also hoping to keep that part low because it also is the focus of the song, so it requires people to listen harder to the guitar and the pad and drums start to just become strictly background, which adds to the spacing- out kind of feel when listening to it :D

Thanks for the review! Your stuff is amazing btw. Cheers!

Amazing Production

What's with these people givin this track 9's? Are you people deaf? This is an absolutely stellar production that pays respect to Gillenium's surreal original. I've had this loop for the past 30 minutes and I swear I could die right now and be ok with it. If this is any indicator of the kind of remixes we can expect from you then I'm on the edge of my seat to see what comes out next. Again,,,,awesome,,,awesome job

Mo-Tech responds:

Glad you liked it :)

I currently have two more remixes in the works. One of them is Chemical Love by Gillenium ( newgrounds.com/audio/listen/98156 ), and the other is Ice Crystals by TreborLocke ( newgrounds.com/audio/listen/93442 ).

Between 12-14 hour work days and roller hockey in the evenings, I'm beat and stretched thin! I'm hoping to find some time for the two songs this weekend. Don't sit on the edge of your seat for too long... your legs will fall asleep :)

Please don't stop!

Hey bro this is really good but it's got so much potential that I don't want to give it a 10 just yet. As soon as :35 hit and that deep bass synth started coming in I was getting ready for the awesomeness to start. It reminds me of the group "Hybrid", if you've ever listened to them. You should spend some time and rock this baby out caus I'm really craving a more rewarding experience with it. PM me if you ever do add on to this. I want more!!!!

Wowsters!

Really beautiful transitions throughout this song. I loved "Porch (re imagining)" as well. This track, though, seems to have a lot of mature textures in it that my ears are loving right now. Please answer this for me caus it's driving me crazy. That rhythmic, arpeggio synth that comes in around 1:18, is that an Imposcar plugin you're using. I swear it sounds just like some of the demos I've heard. I love it! Give me more of that!!

Mo-Tech responds:

Augh! Busted! Yeah, you caught me. I'm using the impOSCar. And to make matters worse, I went back and checked the track and I'm actually using a preset... a PRESET!

I feel dirty.

But I couldn't improve on the sound for this song if I wanted to. All I really did was tweak the lowpass filter while the song played and it couldn't have fit better. I really hate using presets. They make me feel cheap. I often use presets as a starting point, but I have to say this is the only time (that I can remember) where I used a preset straight. Damnit! Now I feel like crap! Thanks a lot! :P

I swear by anything made by Gforce. They made the impOSCar (emulation of the OSC synth OSCar), Oddity (emulation of the Arp Odyssey), Minimonsta (emulation of the Moog Minimoog), the M-Tron (emulation/samplebank of the Melotron... the flutes I use are from this) and the Virtual String Machine (a huge and very deep samplebank/synth). I use two or three of these in every song I do. If you listen to the Dewy Embers remix ( http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/133313 ) I use the Oddity for the arpegiation, the VSM for the layered pads, and the Minimonsta twice for the bass and the lead.

Well, I didn't mean for this to turn into a commercial!

It's the impOSCar :)

Take me away.....

to this place you've effectively created with your sound. Absolutely mesmerizing music. I though I was listening to something from Brian Eno or David Helpling for a little while there. tenfived and going in my favorites.

Gillenium responds:

Thanks! Kevin and I tried our best on this one.

tenfived all the way

Dude,,,sweetness through and through.

Great Start!!

I commend you on focusing on the melody first. Now we need to do something about your ambiance. I'm not sure what kind of software or equipment you have but I'd recommend finding a good reverb plugin somewhere and adding that to the piano. The sound dies out too quickly and leaves nothing to replace it. The cello part was a good idea to help the song progress, but the track as a whole could use some more elements,,,maybe a wind instrument or some full strings. After that it's really all about your ability to make a song speak, and that I'm afraid I can't help you with bro. Keep working on it though caus it sounds like you get the idea of what composing is all about.

Pankee responds:

Thanks a lot for the review Reasoner!
I used the software "Finale Songwriter" which is great for composing.
I will work on the song and add, like you said, a wind instrument and a violin (maybe).

I really appreciate your review =)
Thanks for helping me Reasoner, I wish I could be as good as you for composing.

Just a simple guy. I only contribute music to newgrounds since I have no visual artistic talents whatsoever. My influences come mostly from Vangelis, George Winston, and a heavy dose of electronica and new age.
