Classic Bosa.

I've enjoyed listening to your pieces ever since we both entered into the December MAC of 2008 I believe. Your orchestral work is always appreciated. It's never attempting to impress me with grand, overly done musical gestures...but rather embraces my spirit with it's charm and progressive chord structure. I always appreciate that from you.

Hope you're holding the fort down in Tennessee, because I certainly miss it right now :)

Bosa responds:

Although I'm always looking to improve on my overall skill as a musician, I can safely say that I'm at a point right now where I'm somewhat satisfied. I'm just glad that there are so many other musicians that's been on this site almost as long as I have. I've had my ups and downs I guess, but it's people like you that's kept me going strong. The encouraging reviews are always my favorite, as it lets the artist know that there is some notice and some motivation to continue getting better at music, instead of saying "You're terrible. Just quit now." I appreciate you taking a listen to my track, and I'm thankful not only for the friendship that you've shown me, but also the great music that you've produced.

Also, there's no other place I'd rather be than right here in Tennessee. Heck, Rachel's down here.

Still one of my fav

Over two years and I've still got this in rotation :)

Where Have I Been?

I have not been keeping up with your music lately my friend and I'm extremely saddened right now from this. You are a true sound manipulator. I envy your natural tweaking abilities. This....freaking.....rocks!

Rig responds:

Well, my music isn't going anywhere...feel free to catch up. :D

Greatness

I appreciate you letting me know about this, and I'm glad I was able to contribute to the inspiration behind it. Your playing is gorgeous. I really fell in love with it right around 1:45. Keep making tracks like this and I may have to come to you at some point for some guitar tracks :)

Boux responds:

Wow thats very nice to get a review from a great artist like you :D
was glad to listen to your tune in the first place so i could make this one.
peace.

incredible

Good God man I hadn't played Super Mario World in so long, but that Theme!! I'll always remember that catchy, dark, ominous theme that played every time I reached one of those castles. This is professional quality stuff....amazing work bro!

It's a great loop

But what's up with the volume decreasing at :15? Other then that the loop fits the description perfectly. I need to fill up my hearts, grab some extra fairies in a bottle, and make sure my arrows are max'd out before proceeding into this one :-D

itsameyayo responds:

Very true.

-The volume change? Eh. It's like the parts in the more modern boss levels where you do a specific task, and the volume cuts down a bit at that part. Stupid idea, but oh well. I might fix that so the loop makes more sense.

Poor Quantization and lifeless notes

I was really excited to see a piano piece on the charts. And then it actually started playing. This is a very good example of lifeless piano. It doesn't even sound like you are playing this. All the notes have the exact same velocity level, which means no one could of possibly been performing this. Even if you decided to input the notes yourself, some swing effect or randomization of the timing would of helped this sound less like a computer spitting out notes, and more like a song with possible life to it. If you really did actually take the time and input these notes yourself, then you do deserve a bit of credit though

darphfluffy responds:

Can't argue with Reasoner... Everyone has their own opinion, and to be honest, this part of the concerto isn't that great. Check out Part 10, It's A LOT better in my opinion.

Very Peaceful

Very engaging piano playing. I liked how smooth it played out. I was able to keep it on loop and go about my afternoon without ever feeling like the music stopped. Keep up the progress and thanks for listening :)

OMGL33TH4X0R responds:

Thanks a lot Reasoner! I'm really glad you stopped by. After all you were the one who inspired me to start playing piano. I've been playing for a few months now, but this is the first actual piano song I have recorded. Glad you liked it man!

House that I can enjoy

I thought the mix was well thought it. Lots of great synth work throughout the song....coupled with enough transitions and buildups to keep me entertained and wanting more. I don't normally listen to House but this is an exception so thank you for expanding my musical taste just a little bit more.

mjattie responds:

w00t, thanks :) well house is also quite new for me, but it isn't pure house, more house/trancelike. I'm glad YOU like it...

Nice :)

I think it's true ambient in its purest form. If Newgrounds were ever to give us more subgenres to choose from, then ambient would finally return to the type of music it's supposed to represent, at which point this song would be at the top of the charts :). Great job experimenting with the textures and soundscapes here. Looking forward to more.

tijnn responds:

Hmm! Thanks for the hope-creating review Reasoner, hehe, Im really glad you think about it this way.

Just a simple guy. I only contribute music to newgrounds since I have no visual artistic talents whatsoever. My influences come mostly from Vangelis, George Winston, and a heavy dose of electronica and new age.
