Just a simple guy. I only contribute music to newgrounds since I have no visual artistic talents whatsoever. My influences come mostly from Vangelis, George Winston, and a heavy dose of electronica and new age.

Reasoner's News

Posted by Reasoner - August 26th, 2008

EDIT 8/26/08 I was told to keep it a secret but now that he's announced it himself, I'm blabbing it all over my page. The trance genius Karco has graciously decided to start on a remix production of Instrumental #4. This is very exciting news, as he is one of the premier electronica artists here on Newgrounds. If you haven't checked his stuff out (which would be absolutely shocking), you should. My personal favorites are Beginnings, Temple, and of course Unleashed. I honestly could never imagine this song as a trance piece, but then again I don't make trance so that's where the problem lies.

EDIT 8/16/08 So what would you say if I told you that you had the chance to play my piano composition right on your computer? What? You say that would be the greatest accomplishment man could possibly acheive? So did I. And the good people at Feelthebeats.com seemed to think so too. It's like guitar hero for your computer keyboard, and I completely suck at it. Yes, I stink at playing my own composition. But maybe you wont. So click HERE and see if you can beat my high score. My current stats on easy are....

High Score 918250
Max Combo 194

Post your stats here and see if you can beat the composer at his own song lol. Don't even attempt it at medium/hard or your mind will explode.

EDIT 8/15/08 I won 3rd place for the July Monthly Audio Contest "Sorrowed Tears". It was for I'm Still Here which is pretty freaking awesome for me! There were a lot of great entries, and if you get some time you should listen to the finalists because some of the entries will really move you.

8/9/08 I've been taking a break from writing music since I did "I'm Still Here". Primarily because I've been letting myself chill creatively while I mull around some ideas in my head about where I want to go next. I have about half of a WIP completed that's more of an edgy electronica piece, but it's currently stuck. Or I should say I'm stuck with it :P. So usually whenever I get stuck with one piece, I sit it aside and start on another.

I've been really considering redoing my track The Last Flight. It is one of my favorite compositions, but whenever I listen to it I can tell that it's very unpolished and could use a facelift. I hate calling it a "remix" though because I really don't see it as that. More of a "redoing" of sort. Any opinions on this idea would be appreciated guys and gals. :-D

I've been getting a lot of PM's about sheet music for my work and I'm going to have to state here for everyone that I currently do not have that available. I'm very sorry. :-( Nothing personal :P

Take it easy everyone!

Wow......I'm speechless. This is probably the greatest achievement an NG Audio Artist could hope for right now. #1 of the Weekly Top 5! Just....wow! I really really want to thank each and every one of you who has voted and listened to my music, and especially everyone who took time out of their day to write a review for it. I'd like to say right now that I am sorry that I don't respond to every single review written for my music. I work one of those crummy night shifts for a job I can't really stand right now, but when I come home...I get to read all of the positive things that people have to say about these songs. It really lifts me up, and I can't thank you enough for it. Please know that I read every single review that's ever left on my music, and once again I apologize if I don't write a response to all of them. I can only think of so many ways to say thank you before I start boring you people =D. Once again, thank you to everyone and I hope to hear from all of you when I release my next track.

Today was a great day. I just received my 300th add as a favorite artist here on Newgrounds. Today also marks my 5 month anniversary since I originally signed up here on NG. I'm so grateful that I decided to tally up my listens and downloads so far. It puts a smile on my face, and I've gotta thank all of you for getting me to this point so far.

Total listens: 66,063
Total Downloads: 8,695

I only see good things from here on, so check back often for new music and I'll try to keep everyone posted when I finish something. Once again thank you to everyone who has listened, downloaded, voted, reviewed, and used my music. You guys keep me going.

P.S...... Do you like "Morning Light"? How about sunsets off the coast of England? Well then you've gotta watch the video below :-D

I just got a PM from fellow NG member zuckerman regarding a short film he did. It was entered into a machinima contest and won first place! The best part for me was that he used my song "Instrumental #4" for it. Congrats again bro for your success. Glad I was able to help in some way. You can watch the video below.

I've been kinda busy with work and life, so new music has taken the backseat for the past couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get back on track with, since it has a very different sound then most of my other stuff on here. Thanks for stopping by everyone and don't hesitate to add me as a fav so I can keep you updated with any new music.

I've posted a song titled "Morning Light" to my line up of audio. It's not a "new" song by any means as far as when it was made. It was written about 6 years ago when I had just finished high school and had my trusty 61 key Casio midi keyboard and a copy of FruityLoops. (Yes I said Fruityloops and not FL Studio,,,,,for that name had not existed yet). I found the mp3 of it recently and didn't want to lose it again, so I figured I'd upload it. If anyone feels like reworking this into something more complex, just let me know. I'm still working on something new right now so I don't really have the time or desire to touch this right now. Take it easy everyone.

P.S....I'm keeping this video up of the guy speedpainting to my music another week just because it's so freaking awesome.

I recently upgraded my phone which finally allows me to have AIM running in the background. If you ever feel like messaging me with any comments or suggestions, you can IM me at Reasoner83 if you feel up to it.

I've been working on a new project. It's shaping along at a nice pace with only a few snags along the way. In the meantime, check out this youtube video of a fellow NG user (Diphallia) speedpainting to "Champions Green". It's awesome.

What a week it was for me. Thanks to the #1 spot I had for last week on the AP, I've made tons of new friends and fans from NewGrounds. It's been a great ride and now that it's over, I'm focusing the next month on a new track. Everyone has responded very well to Instrumental #4, Lost, and The Last Flight. I know that there are a lot of people who have heard my stuff and think I only do feel good, newage piano instrumentals. These next few weeks are focused on stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something much more electronic and edgy (well as far as my definition of "edgy" goes).

If you're a frequent listener of my music and you haven't yet added me as a favorite artist, make sure you do so. It allows me to keep track of you and send you PM's whenever any new music is added to my profile. Thank you again to everyone who has already found me. The number of fans I have grows bigger and bigger everyday and I am so grateful. Take it easy everyone.

It's been an exciting week for me here. First and foremost,,,make sure you visit Newgroundsradio.com and check out ContentLost's latest podcast titled "Breaking The Silence". This week she has graciously decided to feature the music of yours truly for the entire thirty minute episode, and I couldn't be more honored about being selected. You can also subscribe to the weekly podcast through iTunes. Just do a search on NG Radio and it's the first one that pops up.

Secondly, my music has flooded the front page of the Audio Portal for this week. They currently hold the number 1, 2, 4, 7, and 16th places for top tracks right now. I had to do a little dance after seeing that, but I'm afraid you guys won't be seeing that. Oh no. Celebration dances are not to be posted here ever.

Things have been on a roll lately, and I decided to end them with a new song. This one spent a lot of time on my hard drive, so I finally forced myself to sit down and finish it. Now that I've finished this track for good, I have a few other projects, and a remix I promised a fellow NG artist I would do. Good night everyone, and once again thank you for stopping by.
