Just a simple guy. I only contribute music to newgrounds since I have no visual artistic talents whatsoever. My influences come mostly from Vangelis, George Winston, and a heavy dose of electronica and new age.

Just a quick update. I've finished mixing and will be submitting my first album production titled "Prologue" to iTunes tomorrow for approval. If all goes well, it should be available early next week. I'll have a more detailed post at that time and will be letting all you awesome people know as soon as it hits the digital shelves :) Thanks everyone for hanging in there with me

Album release set for next week!

Morning Everyone!

If you'd like to hear a preview of this little project of mine that I've been working on for the past year, check out my facebook page HERE. I've included a SoundCloud link there that allows you to listen and download the mp3. Feel free to share the link as well and, once again, thanks for all of your comments and support! The album "Prologue" is still scheduled to be available around early November, and Greg and I are still anxiously hoping to have "Project Comet" available to view here on Newgrounds around then as well.

Cheers!

Album Preview!

Good to see you!

The album is finished! (theoretically). I had a productive listening night with some friends and peers and have deemed this thing to be done. Right now I'm editing the tracks for time and starting the post mix-down process. I'm hoping to have it readily available on itunes, cdbaby.com, rhapsody, and possibly newgrounds by beginning of November.

Greg (Zeedox) has been working on the storyboard and artwork to Project Comet, and the animation is still scheduled to be done in line with the album release. I've posted a screenshot of his art/style test below. So far everything is on schedule, and the story for this flash is shaping up to be something really nice. If you enjoy space, Christmas, superheros, Mars, and my music...I think you should hopefully be pleased! :P

Album in Post-Production/Flash animation in production!

Hey Everyone

I'm happy to report that I've hired a flash animator to begin work with me on a collaborative music video project for newgrounds. Zeedox (zeedox.newgrounds.com) has started storyboarding a new animation which will be synced to a song (Chasing Comets in my Garage) I've finished for this album that I've been tinkering with for over a year now. He's done some fantastic work here so far, and has a real talent for music driven animations. We're hoping to have the project done in time for the holidays this year, and it will coincide with the release of my album on iTunes and my website (which has yet to be finished as well). It's been a long process with me so far in getting this music done, and establishing an identity for myself. I really want to thank everyone who has been supporting me here, and faithfully listening to my music. You guys keep me going.

Until the next update...peace out

Hey Everyone!

The album has been slowly coming around, and I'm at a point now where I've started to consider the type of artwork and design I'd like it to go along with. I'm posting this here to ask any fans or friends if they or someone they know might be able to help me with some original animations I'd like created for a couple of the tracks I've composed. It'd be great to actually have an original music video to use as added exposure for this little project of mine, and so obviously this would be a paid job. If you're interested in helping me out, send me a PM with an example of some of your work, and I'll be happy to get back to you to see if we might be able to work together. It's exciting and I'd love to see this become a reality.

Take care!

So I'm sitting at work one day when I decide to casually browse my Newgrounds account for anything new that might possibly be in my inbox. Usually it's not much, but Tuesday afternoon I log in to find 8 PM's sitting there. "Whoa...I'm popular....sort of". I start browsing through them and they all link to a Toyota ad campaign on YouTube. If you have cable and watch tv (unlike myself) then you've probably seen this ad. It's Toyota's attempt to comfort the consumer market out there about the recent recalls. It's a feel good commercial that just makes you wish Toyota was in your living room right now, making you tea, and listening to you talk about your day at school.

As soon as I played the video, I had to stop myself. "Did I write this song they're playing along to this ad"? It literally sounded like something I'd composed a while ago........and then it hit me. "This piano line is very similar to A Walk Down The Trail".

Well...many of my newgrounds peeps agree. While it's not a direct copy, it's eerily similar. It's almost like whoever wrote this sat back and listened to my catelog on here before writing a quick, one minute cue for Toyota. Crazy...I know....but it's unsettled me deeply.

On that note, I've put out a website. It's just a simple site asking people to vote their opinion. Is it similar? Does it sound the same to you? I'd love people to take a look at it and decide for themselves. Feel free to PM me your opinions too. I think it's safe to say that at the very least, there's someone out there following me.

What's up Toyota??

That's what I thought as I fired up the keyboard this morning and pulled up some unfinished music. It's amazing how long it can take some musicians to get back into the swing of things after moving. California has been good to me. I have an amazing place of my own out here, and some great friends that have helped make the transition that much smoother. I implore anyone out there who is unhappy with how their life is shaping out to be to get up and do something about it (that doesn't necessarily mean move to California FYI).

I'm sure that a few of you who are actually keeping up with me might have thought I'd disappeared off the deep end. I don't have a loud presence here on Newgrounds, and I much prefer to let the music do the speaking. However, I should let you know that I am still actively writing, and that album I've hinted at so many times is still slowly being developed. I've made a few connections I feel good about, and during my musical slumber, I've been actively throwing around sounds, melodies, and arrangements over and over in my head. Rest assured, I've got some pleasant ideas that are currently being hammered out on the keyboard.

Right now all I'd really like to say is a thank you to my increasing fans and listeners out there. I do read your reviews, your comments, and your PM's. I may not respond to everyone that contacts me, but please know that I'm deeply humbled by everyone's support. Take care......and as always.........keep listening.

-Ry

It feels good to be writing again.

I know...I know.....it's been a while. Moving coupled with trying to find employment in the highest unemployment rated state in the country makes writing music seem lifeless. Thankfully, the month and a half of stressful, unemployed worries is over, and I can now get back to a routine that I had in Tennessee. Today starts things off with a bang. Living Transparent has made it to the weekly top five, and I'm almost finished with another song I started as well.

A couple months ago before I moved, I signed a contract with a french game developer to provide the background music to a rather addictive iPhone game called "Moonlights". It's a puzzle game that involves you tapping the screen to build towers and reach the goal towards the top. It's gotten spectacular reviews on iTunes, and uses my song Instrumental #4 as the background music for your endeavors. If you own an iPhone or iPod touch...then you should definitely check it out. It's extremely cheap and gives you hours of entertainment. Here's a video showcasing it.

I get dozens of requests a week asking me to provide sheet music or MIDI files for my music. I regretfully do not give out the MIDI files for copyright reasons, and unfortunately I have no plans right now to convert anything to sheet music. Please do not PM me for these requests, as I will more then likely not respond to them. Thanks guys.

Long time no see everyone!

I've been absent here on the blog for a little while. Basically I've just been incredibly busy prepping myself for a rather lenghty roadtrip to California (SF Bay Area to be exact). Because of this, I have been slow to respond to PM's and requests. Rest assured I have every intention of getting back to the music creation goodness I'm so fond of once I get settled over there. This should be in a couple weeks.... max! Hope everyone has been enjoying Canyon It reflects this trip I'm about to take rather well and I've actually been listening to it a lot...which is kind of shocking since I usually don't listen much to my own music after i've finished them :) Take care everyone and I'll get back to you all soon

Movin To California!
